UTC Cambridge is intended for all abilities of learner and our admissions policy is built around a fundamental core of fairness and transparency and is therefore inclusive. It meets the requirements of the prevailing Schools Admissions Code. Class sizes are set at a maximum of 23 students.

The college is a fully comprehensive mixed-ability UTC, where young people will follow personalised programmes that fit their individual needs and meet or exceed their career aspirations. Students will learn in a caring but challenging community where high standards of behaviour and commitment will be rewarded with exciting opportunities for achievement and successful progression.

The admissions philosophy is to widen access to, and participation in, a high quality hands-on science and technology-based curriculum designed to meet the needs of individuals, employers and HE Institutions now and into the future. UTC Cambridge is a regional Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) specialist college for 14 to 19 year olds who have a passion for STEM subjects and intend to work in a STEM industry. Our catchment area extends 25 miles from the college however, we will consider students from outside the area if places are available.
