TEACHER OF MATHEMATICS

Start Date: September 2017
Salary: £25,000 - £37, 000 pro rata, per annum
Hours of work: Full or Part Time considered
Contract: Permanent

The Teacher of Mathematics at UTC Cambridge will be a driving influence in a subject that is central to our curriculum and ethos. We are looking for someone who is innovative, thinks outside the box and wants to carry maths beyond the confines of traditional specifications. You will need an outstanding knowledge of maths and be driven to achieve successful outcomes. It is a post that will require vision, commitment and the consistent role modelling of best practices for students. It is a tremendously exciting post and one that will offer the successful candidate the opportunity to shape our curriculum and link external qualifications into Challenge Projects, working in a state of the art environment.

The Teacher of Mathematics will have exceptional skills, as well as offering experience in A-Level, Core and GCSE teaching, statistics and/or further maths.

• Do you have a passion for educating students that goes beyond their GCSE or A Level results to truly improve their life choices and chances especially to enter STEM industries?
• Do you work collaboratively to achieve the highest possible standards of work and conduct, not only in your planning and delivery of outstanding teaching, but also in your commitment to mentoring in order to guide students through their individual learning journeys?
• Can you support the delivery of project-based learning, based on real vocational opportunities?
• Have you pioneered new ways of teaching to enhance students’ experiences and outcomes?

As the successful candidate, you will have the opportunity to work alongside university and industry partners to develop and deliver an outstanding science education through the Challenge Projects. Supported by world renowned local sponsors, we provide specialist education combining traditional GCSEs and A-Levels with specialist vocational qualifications and L3 Applied Science BTECs. We are looking for a person who is innovative, thinks outside the box and wants to carry science beyond the confines of traditional specifications. You will need a sound knowledge in your specialist area of science and be driven to achieve successful outcomes. It is a post that will require vision, commitment and the consistent role modelling of best practices for both staff and students. It is a tremendously exciting post and one that will offer the successful candidate the opportunity to shape our curriculum and link external qualifications into Challenge Projects, working in a state of the art environment.
