Director of Student Progress

Start date: 1st September 2016

Salary: £45,000 per annum

The director of student progress at UTC Cambridge (UTCC) will ensure that every student has timely individual support, guidance and intervention to realise his/her personal, academic and career aspirations. You will ensure that students are making at or above expected progress through the monitoring of student data, provisioning and monitoring effective intervention strategies, ensuring attendance is above 95% and that behaviour is focused on learning. You will devise quality assurance processes that are used efficiently and effectively throughout UTCC and comply with the expectations of parents, the governing body, OFSTED and other monitoring bodies.

This role might suit an experienced SENDCo who wishes to broaden into a Senior Management role to deliver all student progress. Ideally we are looking for management experience in a school or industry environment and outstanding teaching. A passion for the UTCC vision and/or experience in our specialism, BioMedical and Environmental (CleanTech) Sciences and Technology would be an advantage.

As Head of an Inclusion Team, you will be required to lead, develop and support effective practice for Pupil Premium students and students with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND), English as an Additional Language (EAL) and those with additional needs, to ensure that they are able to make rapid progress in line with the UTCC expectations.

Head of Maths

Start date September 2016

Salary: £25,000-£37,000 + £4,000 per annum

The Head of Maths at UTC Cambridge will be a driving influence in a subject that is central to our curriculum and ethos. Your role will be to co-ordinate A level Maths, Core Maths and GCSE Maths courses and manage a number of subject specialist teachers. It is a post that will require vision, commitment and the consistent role modelling of best practices for both staff and students. It is a tremendously exciting post and one that will offer the successful candidate the opportunity to help shape our STEM curriculum and link external qualifications into Challenge Projects, working in a state of the art environment.

We are looking for experience in middle management in a school or industry and an outstanding teacher of Maths offering expertise in GCSE and A-Level teaching. Experience managing cross-curricular subject specialists would be an advantage.
