How to apply
If you are interested in joining UTC Cambridge in Year 10 to sudy GCSEs or in Year 12 to join the Sixth Form you should apply as soon as you can by contacting us directly.
Students from anywhere in the region can apply. Places are not limited to those living in Cambridgeshire, the main catchment area is considered to be the area within a 25 mile straight line radius of UTC Cambridge.

On receipt of your application form we will send you an acknowledgement and then invite you for an interview for your UTC place.

Year 10 Applications
During Year 9 (age 13-14) young people across the country make choices about their curriculum (GCSE and BTEC options) for Key Stage 4 (age 14-16). Students wishing to join UTC Cambridge in year 10, should complete this application form before 15 June 2016. Late applications wil be considered up to 1 September 2016. You should return your form directly to us here at UTCC and we will invite you for interview. Once you are offered and accept a place we will liaise with your local council to confirm your transfer details.
At UTC Cambridge, students study a solid core of GCSEs delivered alongside exciting challenge projects, which bring the theory to life. At 16 you will be able to continue at UTC Cambridge to study A levels or BTEC (125 place are reserved for students progressing internally) or you may choose to apply to another post-16 provider or move into an apprenticeship or employment.
Year 12 Applications
We are now accepting applications for year 12 entry in September 2016 to study A levels and BTEC Courses. To apply for a place in September 2016 please use the UCAS Progress website, looking under the 16-18 Choices. Click Register in the top right corner to start your enquiry.
To apply for courses at UTCC - you should type "Cambridge" in the "Where do you want to study" box. "UTC" in the Learning Provider box and you shoudl enter "Science" in the "which Courses box". (Please note you can study non-science courses at UTCC to such as English, Economics, Geography and Psychology as well as the Science subjects, Maths and Computer Science).
If you have any difficulties with the UCAS site or if you are applying after the first cut-off date but before 1 September 2016, please download and complete our Application Form and return it directly to us at UTCC. We will invite you for interview and once you are offered and accept a place we will liaise with UCAS to confirm your enrolment.

Interviews will generally be offered to students placing UTC Cambridge first or second and will be conducted on 4 and 7 March 2016. Please check your UCAS account for invitations. Conditional offers will be sent by Easter 2016.
Offers are based on predicated grades, attendance record, personal statement, and references, as well as commitment to the UTC workplace model as demonstrated at the interview. Students can be given two conditional offers, one for an academic pathway and one for an applied technical pathway.
